Step 3: Why are some web articles missing from the report?
Ferretly uses third-party internet search engines for web and news search. It returns at most the top 30 articles from that search.
Search uses the subject properties you provided—name, name variants, location, school, employer, and more. Ferretly analyzes each article for relevancy and ranks results by identifier matches.
If you found an article about the subject that is not in the Ferretly report, common reasons include:
The article was found with search parameters you did not provide to Ferretly
The article did not rank high enough on relevancy
You used a different search engine than Ferretly uses
With Analyst Assistant, a Ferretly analyst reviews articles for relevancy. Matching is similar to social profile matching: the article typically needs at least two identifiers that match what you provided about the subject.
