Ferretly’s personality insights use the OCEAN (Big Five) model to estimate a profile of personality-related traits from a subject’s public social media post text.

Implementation is inspired by peer-reviewed research on personality and social media behavior (for example Stoughton, Thompson, and Meade (2013)).
How scores are produced
Ferretly analyzes publicly available post text with natural language processing and a model trained to associate linguistic patterns and posting behaviors with OCEAN traits. Results appear as percentages per trait (for example 75% Openness as a relatively high estimated level).
