Step 5: Does Ferretly analyze every post?
No. Analyzing every post on every profile would be slow and cost-prohibitive. Social platforms hold large volumes of data, and API access is limited. Ferretly prioritizes recent posts and uses statistical sampling so checks stay timely and consistent.
Why sampling is used
Representation — Recent posts in sufficient quantity better reflect current attitudes and behavior
Relevance — Newer activity is usually more useful for decisions than deep historical content alone
Efficiency — Focus stays on posts more likely to surface significant signals across risk classifications
Technical and compliance limits
API limits — Platforms restrict how much data can be accessed at once or over time
Terms of service — Ferretly accesses publicly available data in line with platform policies
Privacy — Methods are adjusted when platforms change privacy or security controls
Consistency
The same sampling and analysis criteria are applied across subjects to keep screening consistent. Algorithms still evaluate content across multiple risk classifications within the sampled set.
Can the number of posts analyzed change?
Yes. Platform API or terms-of-service changes can affect access. The optional Deep Scan add-on doubles the number of posts analyzed per profile when available on your plan. See Ferretly Plans.
