Understanding Subject Statuses

Ferretly will show the current progress of your background checks via different statuses displayed on the Subject page. 


To see subject statuses, select Subjects in the left navigation. The button may appear as a person icon depending on your screen size. 

Most of the subject statuses display in the rectangle indicator/button to the right of a subject. 

Sometimes you will have to hover over the button to see the status. The following statuses can be displayed: 

  • Analyst Queued - Indicates that you assigned a subject to a Ferretly Analyst. Once the Analyst reviews your subject and performs Identity Resolution (associates social media profiles) they will run you subject for you and the subject will follow the below statuses.

  • Run Check - Indicates that the subject has not been submitted for processing. You can click to run a check. 

  • Queued - Indicates the subject has been submitted and is waiting to start processing. It usually takes less than 20 minutes to run a background check, but this is dependent on the number of posts and the quantity of images a subject has in their profiles as well as current overall system load.

  • Processing - Indicates that posts are being retrieved from the social media platform(s).

  • Analyzing - Indicates that the posts including text and images are being analyzed by Ferretly’s machine learning algorithms.

  • Finishing - Indicates that the background report is being generated.

  • Screening - Indicates that Continuous Screening is turned on for the subject.

  • Score - If you see a numerical value and solid color background, it means that the run was complete, and the subject was given a score from 1 to 1000. See the article here to understand more about subject scores.

The last subject status is Redressed. A redressed subject has been reviewed by a Ferretly analyst through Analyst Assistant and is ready for you to download the report.

A green checkmark (badge) over a subject profile picture indicates the subject is Redressed. You will also receive a notification when this status is set.
