Assign Subjects to Analysts
Assigning a subject to a Ferretly analyst (Analyst Assistant) means the analyst will:
Perform identity resolution (locate the subject’s social media profiles)
Run the social media check
Review flagged posts and redress the report
This is not the same as changing the subject owner inside your organization.
You will:
Assign at add-subject time (automatic or Submit), or
Assign existing subjects from Subjects
Confirm the assign dialog

Step 2: Assign when adding a new subject
With Analyst Assistant, new subjects are typically assigned to an analyst when you submit them for processing.
Manually add a subject through the wizard.
On the Subject Summary step, click Submit (bottom right) to send the subject for analyst processing without running the check yourself.
Statuses progress through Searching Profiles and then Analyst Queued while a Ferretly analyst reviews the subject.
When you submit a subject (or click Run Check without Analyst Assistant), Agentic AI profile search can begin immediately to uncover social profiles.

Step 3: Assign existing subjects
Click Subjects in the left navigation. On smaller screens, this may appear as a person icon.
Find the subject(s) to assign.
### One subject
Click the three dots to the right of the subject.
Click Assign Subject.
### Multiple subjects
Select the checkbox for each subject.
Click the assign icon in the top right.
Continue → Step 4
---
Step 4: Complete the Assign dialog
In the Assign Subject(s) window, select the Ferretly Analyst radio button.
Click Assign (bottom right).
To assign a subject to another user in your organization instead, see Change Subject Ownership.
Continue → Step 5
---
Step 5: What happens next
After assignment:
Profile search and analyst queue statuses appear on Subjects.
The analyst resolves profiles, runs the check, and redresses flagged content.
You are typically notified when the subject is Redressed (green check on the profile picture).

Step 6: Troubleshooting
Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
--- | --- |
No Ferretly Analyst option | Confirm Analyst Assistant is on your plan; check whether the subject is already assigned to an analyst. |
Want to change owner, not analyst | |
Status stuck in Analyst Queued | Allow time for analyst capacity; contact Ferretly support if it remains far beyond your SLA. |
Need to run the check yourself | Use Running Checks for New Subjects or Running Checks on Existing Subjects if your process allows self-serve runs. |
