Web/News and Adverse Media Search

Ferretly can run a web/news (adverse media) search as part of a social media check when you enable it on the subject’s report profile in General Settings.

The search is a surface web scan across a large index of sites. Coverage includes news outlets and many alternative media sites such as niche social platforms, blogs, boards, forums, and review sites.

In general, Ferretly uses the subject’s full name, college, employer, and location; returns the top 30 most relevant articles; and uses AI/NLP to match article identifiers to subject properties. Matching accounts for transliteration, nicknames, and semantic similarity on name, company, and college.
