Step 4: Configure options

Use the controls on the right to set the following.

### FCRA Compliant Background Check

Enables limits suited to Fair Credit Reporting Act–style pre-employment use in the United States. It constrains post history and what can appear in the report. See FCRA Settings.

### Limit post history

When checked, Ferretly excludes posts older than the number of years you select (from the current date).

  • If this option is unchecked and FCRA is unchecked, there is no age-based limit on posts.

  • If FCRA is checked, you can still limit history up to 10 years.

### Email this address when background status changes

Enter an address to receive notifications for run completed, run failed, and/or marked redressed. If unchecked, Ferretly does not send those status emails (except as controlled by the next option).

### Email subject owner upon completion of report

When checked, the subject owner is emailed when an analyst marks the report redressed.

### Include web/news posts at or above this confidence

When checked, Ferretly runs a web and news search for the subject and can include matching articles in the report. Search uses the subject’s name, alias, location, and country/region. If the subject has no location, search runs for the United States only.

Ferretly scores each article Low, Medium, High, or unknown confidence by comparing page content to subject properties. Choose the minimum confidence to include. Selecting Low includes all articles, including those with no confidence score.

See Web/News and Adverse Media Search.

### Disable automatic AI social profile search

When checked, Ferretly does not automatically run Agentic AI social profile search when subjects are assigned to analysts or when a check is initiated.
