Use Report Profiles

A report profile is a collection of settings that controls how Ferretly runs a check and builds reports for a subject. The profile is attached to the subject so every run uses the same flags, keywords, history window, and report format.

You assign a report profile in two places:

  1. When adding a subject

  2. When updating an existing subject

If you have not created profiles yet, start with Create a Report Profile.

Step 2: Assign a profile when adding a subject

### Manual add

When you manually add a subject:

  1. Reach the Subject Summary (last step of the add-subject flow) or the submit-for-processing window.

  2. Open the report profile dropdown.

  3. Select the profile for this subject’s check.

  4. Continue with Run Check or submit to an analyst, depending on your process.

Unless you later update the subject, this profile is used whenever a report is run for that subject.

### Import and API

When you import subjects or add them via API, Ferretly applies your default report profile to every imported subject.

Set a personal default with the bookmark icon on the profile dropdown in Settings. See Create a Report Profile.

Step 3: Change the profile on an existing subject

  1. Open the subject and go to the Subject Summary page (or update the subject).

  2. Use the report profile dropdown to select a different profile.

  3. That selection becomes the default profile for that subject going forward.

### If a check already ran

  • To apply Report Settings changes (layout, insights, language) to an existing report package, refresh the report.

  • Flag settings, keyword settings, and many general settings affect future check runs only. Refresh does not re-analyze content under new flag or keyword rules.
