Post Types
On social platforms, people create original posts, reply or comment, share/repost, or like others’ content. Ferretly labels each item with a post type next to the post date in the dashboard and reports.
Post type | Icon cue | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
--- | --- | --- |
Original Post | No icon next to the date | The subject created the post |
Share | Two-arrow icon | The subject reposted another user’s content |
Like | Heart icon | The subject liked another user’s post |
Reply/comment | Box-and-arrow icon | The subject responded to another user’s post |

Step 2: How analysis differs by type
Shares/reposts without a subject comment (no quote text): Ferretly may analyze the original poster’s content for behavior classification.
Reposts and likes can include analysis of original text, the subject’s comments on the repost, and images in the repost.
Replies and reposts with the subject’s own comment: Ferretly focuses on the subject’s content.
Your report profile can also limit which post types are included at all (Select What to Flag / post type settings).

Step 3: Where types appear
Posts page — type icon next to the post date on each card
Social media report — same type cues on post cards; report keys explain layout
Use type filters on Posts when you only want originals, replies, likes, or reposts (Find a Post).
